Mike and Sharon. These are two of the most amazing people I've ever met. My Grandparents. And I wouldnt trade either one of them for the world. They truly are wonderful. I am so lucky and blessed to have them in my life and to be able to share so much time with them. I current live in their home and couldnt have been welcomed with more joy and comfort. When mom and I suggested that I come live with them the first thing out of my grandmothers mouth was "forever!" haha. Im the favorite...always have been and always will be ;) sorry cousins and brother. Facts are facts. Gram has always been able to reach me unlike most people and I cant really explain to you or to myself even why that is. For some reason I have an extreme amount of respect for her in so many different ways and for so many different reasons. I could sit here and spell them all out for you but I dont feel that I need too. She's gotta be the strongest woman I know and has been through her fair share of shitty times...always coming out of them stronger than she was before. I look up to her and hope to some day become as strong and confident as she is. And boy does she love me...alot. There is nothing in this world that I couldnt share with my Gram and nothing in the world that I dont :) My cousin Sheena and I love that about our Gram. We can tell her anything and we usually do!! Haha the best is when she gets offended and tells us to shush...but then smiles and on the side because really it makes her laugh. She loves us. Its awesome. Gramps on the other hand is a completely different story...not any less entertaining however haha. He struggled through his childhood growing up in a foster home and pretty much making to adulthood on his own. He was born a fighter and never once looked back on anything he did or wanted to do. Just ask him. "When I was kid we didnt get the choice...you ate what you got or you didnt eat at all!" And thats just one of the many things he will tell you if you spout off about random silly things that make you sound like a spoiled brat. Hes a hardass thats for sure. You dont get away with being a wussbag around Gramps...it's not acceptable. Most of the time he will tell you that he would have "pounded" that guy in his day if he cut him off in the grocery line or turned in front of him on the road. In his day he handled things much differently obviously haha...physical force wasnt so uncommon back then and as far as it being illegal...well nobody really gave a shit in those times. I dont know how many broken noses hes has suffered in his life but I do know its more than 5 lol. He was a boxer in his prime and would hitch hike for miles to go fight...it was something to do then and the money wasnt bad either. Gramps taught me to be fearless in my life growing up...once you show fear your gonna get bit...but if you stand your ground and show no mercy the better chances you have of winning the battle. Whatever battle that might be in life. I will always love telling stories about my Gramps and how he was a security guard along with my uncles (his sons) and my dad at the racetrack back when they were teenagers and the drunk canadians would mouth off to them and they would get to sucker punch them for fun ;) My Grandfather lived for moments like that back then...and if he could today...he still would. Thats a fact! haha. They are in their 70s now and I am determined to take advantage of every last day I have with them...everyday they wake up and she reads most the day and he sits in front of his 3 different computers either farming on farmville or listening to his real estate CDs because "they are gonna help him to sell more houses" at 72 years old ;) If they arent doing that then they are shopping for this or that or looking for excuses to leave the house if just for an hour or so. Walmart is their favorite pastime along with their every thursday ritual of Karaoke at the Eagles Lodge or as Gramps calls it "sing along" haha. Nobody can quite make me laugh like these two people can...when they argue over absolutely nothing...or turn a half an hour trip to the store into a 2 hour adventure...or maybe Gramps high pockets as he tries to get out of paying for just about anything...or Grams stubborn self that refuses to do anything out of the ordinary because change just isnt apart of her agenda ;) Even with all the quirks they have I will always and forever love them with my whole heart...and that will never change. Ever. ♥
